VOLUNTEERING

ROSENBERG RAILROAD
MUSEUM
The Rosenberg Railroad Museum, situated in the old town of Rosenberg, houses a section of the Quebec train on display along with train equipment and modeled trains. The museum hosts seasonal events to attract both children and adults. My role as a volunteer involves assisting the staff in organizing and running events, recruiting volunteers, as well as handling setup and cleanup. During regular times, I help the staff create necessary equipment for events, such as sorting colored beads for Boy Scout activities and cutting out informational guides for elementary field trips.
BARC ANIMAL SHELTER
BARC is the official animal shelter of the city of Houston, offering various services, including adoption, foster care, spay/neuter, and wellness. I decided to volunteer here inspired by my cat, aiming to assist more stray animals in finding their forever homes. Due to being under 18, I am not permitted to walk shelter dogs or interact with resident cats. During my summer volunteering, I supported the staff in the Dog Shelter area by creating interactive toys and treats, distributing them, refilling water bowls, and maintaining a clean and organized environment for potential adoptions.

Women InSpirit
Women InSpirit is a non-profit organization that serves underprivileged young women in South Africa by offering them education. I was able to take part in their action by assisting in the setup of their annual gala as well as its marketplace.
